- Identify the First Corner:
- Choose a location for the first corner of the building. This is usually a front corner where you’ll start measuring from.
- Drive a stake into the ground to mark this corner. Ensure it is firmly in place.
- Measure and Mark the Length:
- Using your measuring tape, measure the full length of one side of the pole barn from the first corner stake.
- Drive a second stake into the ground at the measured length to mark the second corner of the building.
- Measure and Mark the Width:
- From the first corner stake, measure the width of the building perpendicular to the first side.
- Drive a third stake into the ground at the measured width to mark the third corner.
- Complete the Rectangle:
- From the third corner stake, measure the length of the building, parallel to the first side.
- Drive a fourth stake into the ground to mark the fourth corner.
- Finally, measure the width from the second corner to the fourth corner to ensure it matches the building’s width.
